An All-Natural Tush Lift
It’s Looks & Much More!
It goes without saying that a benefit to practicing Pilates for both men and women is muscle definition and wearing it well! Working-out the bunz never gets old or goes out of fashion. There is not a Pilates class with CoeDynamics, whether at the Redondo Beach studio or online, that doesn’t include Pilates exercises to perk those glutes to support both fashion and function. Most think of the Glutes being the Gluteus Maximus BUT many miss a VERY IMPORTANT bottom muscle in their exercise routines - the Gluteus Minimus! This is the true muscle that creates and makes the bottom lift and BURN 😊!
This tiny but mighty muscle is a 3rd layer deep and its inside the hip (illium) and attaches to the upper leg (at greater trochanter). Its connection makes it responsible for outer leg kicks (abduction), walking and holding legs in proper alignment to hips. Pilates exercises that strengthen the function of this muscle include:
Are You a Bottom Tucker?
The Glute Minimus is also responsible for pelvis stability (aka the bottom lift), and is terribly important for one of the most basic functions we do every day – standing! It's pretty easy to know if you have your Glute Minimus kicked in gear or not. If you are a bottom tucker or sagger (yes this is a made-up word), you are lacking the use of this very important muscle - not just for the looks, but also to keep your back and hips supported throughout your day. Effective Pilates exercises to strengthen the stability function of your Gluteus Minimus include:
It’s Never Too Late
Pilates is not age discriminate. It's for everyone, and that includes YOU! CoeDynamics offers New Client Specials to get you started on the right foot (or should I say the right and left Glutes 😊). Find out more about the New Client Special here.
